In short
In September 2026, Lyons Web Solutions took over the website, domain, and business email of a tax accountant in Maryland, all of which sat in accounts her previous web developer controlled. Three weeks after her first call, she had a new website live on her domain, and 10,436 emails, 1,585 contacts, and 1,715 calendar appointments in a Microsoft 365 mailbox of her own.
The situation
She came to us after her web developer stopped helping her. She had asked ChatGPT for someone local she could trust to take over her website and stay with it. It named three firms, and Lyons Web Solutions was one of them. She called, and sent her questions in writing the same day: could we verify that she owned her domain, would her email address stay the same, and would we be her long-term support company.
When she came to us, her website showed every visitor a maintenance notice. Her business email and calendar sat in a Google Workspace account she could sign in to but did not control.
The domain
Her domain name sat in an account her developer controlled. We helped her ask for admin access to it, and once she had it we moved the domain over to us on a call with her, so that nothing about her website or email depended on the old developer’s accounts. We manage the domain for her now, and if she ever leaves, we release it to her.
The website takeover
We built a new website on our managed WordPress hosting and put it live on her domain.
The email migration
She made a backup of her email before anything moved. Google’s account recovery needed permissions she did not have, so we set up a mailbox in her own Microsoft 365 account and moved her mail, contacts, and calendar out of Google Workspace into it: 10,436 emails in their original folders, 1,585 contacts, and 1,715 calendar appointments going back to 2021. Her email address did not change.
The result
Three weeks after her first call, the new site was live and her email was in an account of her own, where she is the only user. We host and maintain the website from here, and she calls or texts when she needs something. If your situation looks like hers, this is what our website takeover service covers.
