Why it matters

An expired domain takes the whole business offline

Domains are the single most common cause of avoidable downtime we see. A renewal notice goes to an old inbox, a card expires, or a DNS record gets changed by someone who no longer works there. Here is how that actually plays out.

30 days before
The renewal notice is sent
It goes to whichever address was on the account when the domain was first registered, which is frequently a former employee, a former agency, or a personal inbox nobody checks any more.
Day zero
Registration expires
The website stops resolving and, more damagingly, so does email. Orders, inquiries, and password resets all fail silently. Nothing bounces back to tell you.
First few days
Grace period, usually unnoticed
The domain can still be renewed at the normal price. Most owners do not find out until a customer telephones to say the site is down.
After 30 days
Redemption
Recovery is still possible but now carries a redemption fee that is typically several times the cost of the renewal that was missed.
After roughly 75 days
Released to the public
The domain becomes available for anyone to register. Established names are picked up quickly, and at that point it is gone.

Yes. The domain remains registered to you as the owner. We manage the renewals and the DNS on your behalf, and if you ever leave we release it without argument or exit fees.
Yes, and we handle the whole process, including unlocking the domain at the current registrar and dealing with authorisation codes. There is no downtime during a properly executed transfer.
Yes, it is included with managed hosting. It is also available on its own if you want the registration and DNS handled but are hosting elsewhere.
Yes, 10 mailboxes on your own domain per hosted site, with setup and deliverability records configured. If you already use Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, we configure the records to point at those instead.
We make record changes ourselves rather than handing you a control panel, precisely because a mistyped record takes a site or its email offline. Changes are made deliberately, and we monitor propagation afterwards.
